    Elisabeth married Johannes Jacobus SWANEPOEL. Johannes (son of Jan SWANEPOEL and Johanna Elizabeth DU PREEZ) was born on 3 Mar 1784 in Swellendam; died on 26 Aug 1871. [Group Sheet]

    As jong seun het hy sy vader op sy ruiltogte en jagtogte vergesel. Later het hy en sy broer Philippus saam met hulle vader die besigheid bedryf. Hulle het selfs aan die Rietrivier 'n soort halfwegstasie of handelspos bedryf waar jagters en trekboere voorraad kon bekom.


    Hy trou in 1815 met Anna Catharina Botha op Beaufort Wes. Sy is op 29/7/1796 op die plaas Grootfontein, distrik itenhage gebore as dogter van Willem Jacobus Botha en Johanna Fransina Roos.



    Johannes en sy broer Philippus koop later die plaas Leeuwkloof in die Willowmore gebied as halfwegstasie na die noorde. Hier was vars trekosse aangehou en het die vrouens en kinders oorgebly. Nog later koop hy en sy broer ook die twee aanliggende plase Bosjesmanspoort en Paardepoort buite Willowmore vir dieselfde doel.


    Sy vrou Anna Catharina sterf op Bosjesmanspoort op 9 November 1865. Sy was 69 jaar oud. Na haar dood trek hulle enigste oorlewende twee seuns, Johannes George en Willem Jacobus noordwaarts en vestig hulle in die Marico en Rustenburg distrikte respektiewelik. Johannes is eers veertien jaar na sy vrou Anna oorlede. Op 2 November 1879 sterf hy op Bosjesmanspoort aan huis van sy skoonseun Philippus Cornelis Petrus. Op sy sterfkennis staan dat hy vol 85 Jaar oud was. Sy transportpad het tot 'n einde gekom.

    Johannes married Anna Catharina BOTHA in 1815. Anna (daughter of Willem Jacobus BOTHA and Johanna Francina ROOS) was born on 29 Jul 1796 in Grootfontein, Uitenhage; died on 9 Nov 1865 in Bosjespoort. [Group Sheet]
